Desperate Times...

So my neighbour Keith called round the other night (a policeman as it happens) to tell me that a spaight of robberies have been taking place in the local area over the last few days, we're talking garden sheds, and lose items left outside more than anything. We havn't yet had any problems in our close, but I'm wondering if it might be wise to invest in a few security measures (have been a bit lax on this if I'm honest)

As I see it there are two points of potential weakness at the moment, the shed, and the back gate ( I know the second one is really asking for trouble)

After a quick bit of googling (I found Thames Valley Poilice to have some helpful advice) it was off to B&Q early yesterday morning to pick up a couple of latches and padlocks. It occured to me that the strength of the lock and latch is only as good as the strength of the structure you attach it to. Quite the connumdrum. None the less I've gone about getting these things fitted, and it all feels sturdy, plus I've got piece of mind, which is probably just as important to me these days. Truth be told I don't have an awful lot of value in my shed or garden, but it would feel like an awful violation even if someone just tried.
